How to setup auto-forwarding in Outlook.com for Aiko

Introduction

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up automated email forwarding in Outlook.com. We’ll cover how to forward emails from individual sender addresses and entire domains. This will make using Aiko even easier.

Prerequisites

  • An Outlook.com account
  • Access to a computer (not mobile device)
  • An Aiko account (for forwarding to Aiko)

Copy your Aiko Forwarding Address

Before setting up forwarding in Outlook.com, you’ll need your Aiko forwarding address:

  1. Sign into your account at app.aikoemail.com
  2. Find the Snapshot you want to forward emails to.
  3. Click the Snapshot.
  4. Click “Copy” on the “Forward emails here” field.

Forwarding All Emails

  1. Sign in to your Outlook.com account.
  2. Click on the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
  3. Click on “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom of the settings panel.
  4. Go to “Mail” > “Forwarding”.
  5. Check the box next to “Enable forwarding”.
  6. Enter the forwarding email address (e.g., your Aiko address).
  7. Choose whether to keep a copy of forwarded messages in your Outlook.com inbox.
  8. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Forwarding Emails from Individual Sender Addresses

  1. Sign in to your Outlook.com account.
  2. Click on the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
  3. Click on “View all Outlook settings” at the bottom of the settings panel.
  4. Go to “Mail” > “Rules”.
  5. Click “Add new rule”.
  6. Give your rule a name (e.g., “Forward emails from John”).
  7. Under “Add a condition”, select “From”.
  8. Enter the email address you want to forward from.
  9. Under “Add an action”, select “Forward to”.
  10. Enter the forwarding email address (e.g., your Aiko address).
  11. (Optional) Add any other conditions or actions as needed.
  12. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Forwarding Emails from Entire Domains

  1. Follow steps 1-5 from the previous section.
  2. Give your rule a name (e.g., “Forward emails from example.com”).
  3. Under “Add a condition”, select “From”.
  4. Enter “@domainname.com” (replace “domainname.com” with the actual domain).
  5. Under “Add an action”, select “Forward to”.
  6. Enter the forwarding email address (e.g., your Aiko address).
  7. (Optional) Add any other conditions or actions as needed.
  8. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Managing Forwarding Rules

  1. Go to Outlook.com settings (gear icon > View all Outlook settings).
  2. Navigate to “Mail” > “Rules”.
  3. Here you can view, edit, or delete existing rules.

Tips

  • Test your rules by sending test emails to ensure they’re working correctly.
  • Regularly review your rules to keep them up-to-date.
  • Outlook.com has a limit on the number of rules you can create, so combine rules when possible.
